Background

  • Generally anticholinergics: specifically antimuscarinic
  • Block the responses of the sphincter muscle of the iris and stimulation of ciliary body muscle, leading to cycloplegia and mydriasis (dilated pupils)
  • Often used for symptomatic relief in the treatment of uveitis
  • Topical agents
