Hi Barbara, thanks for making contributions to WikEM. I appreciate you being upfront about your background, but at the moment our current policy is to only have medical providers be able to edit the wiki. Wikipedia is a great resource for non-clinicians, however one of the problems for medical providers in using it (besides not having technical information and drug dosages) is that it provides too much miscellaneous background information that is not important at the moment of treating a patient. Thus, it takes too long to find the key piece of information. Because only medical providers known what is important to them, this makes it hard for us to have non-clinician contributors. If you find an error, we are most happy if you want to point those out or make links to key sites, however we are trying to avoid too much non-clinically useful background information.
