Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm

Background

  • Acute MI or surgical mishap causes ventricular free wall rupture [1]
    • Contained by pericardial adhesions
    • Mortality rate high secondary to rupture of pseudoaneurysm

Causes

  • Transmural MI (anterior or inferior most common)
  • Surgical mishap
