  • 5-S Duties
    • Purple
      • Purple attending (on all shifts):
        • Remove any items that do not belong (food, meds, etc.)
        • Securely dispose of any EKGs/papers that are left behind
        • Ensure work surfaces are properly wiped down
        • Ensure translator phone is docked
        • Charge the attending phone
        • Close any completed consults
        • Ensure interqual is met for all admissions
      • Purple senior (Tasks #1-3 while on airway, otherwise on every shift):
        • Ensure airway bags are in correct location
        • Stock airway bags according to chart in cabinet
        • Check airway medication expiration dates and sign off
        • Check posey manometer for Minnesota tubes
        • Charge the senior phone
        • Close any completed consults
        • Ensure interqual is met for all admissions
      • Purple junior (on all shifts):
        • Ensure all US in AED/Trauma are docked
        • Wipe down US machines and stock gel and grey wipes
        • Clear US worklists
        • Check equipment in purple doc box (op/otoscopes, ring cutter, stryker, breathalyzer, pacemaker (with cable and extra battery)
        • Charge the junior phone
        • Close any completed consults
        • Ensure interqual is met for all admissions
    • Green
      • Green attending (on all shifts):
        • Remove any items that do not belong (food, meds, etc.)
        • Securely dispose of any EKGs/papers that are left behind
        • Ensure work surfaces are properly wiped down

        • Ensure glidescopes are functional and are in trauma 1-5

        • Stock VL blades in baskets and ensure rigid stylet available
        • Check O2 tank on gurneys
        • Charge the senior phone
        • Close any completed consults
        • Ensure interqual is met for all admissions
      • Green junior (on all shifts):
        • Ensure all US in RME are docked
        • Wipe down US machines and stock gel and grey wipes
        • Clear US worklists
        • Remove items that do not belong from the rounding room
        • Check equipment in green doc box (op/otoscopes, slit lamp, tonopen)
        • Charge the junior phone
        • Close any completed consults
        • Ensure interqual is met for all admissions
    • Triage/FT (7a or 9a provider)
      • Ensure triage WOWs are in place
      • Discard food/papers/EKGs from counters and rooms
      • Plug in WOWs that are not in use
      • Wipe down computer keyboards
      • Charge phones when not being used
      • Turn in phone to RME clerk at end of shift
      • Ensure registration complete prior to transfer to UCC/psych
