- Open the saline syringe (remove foil outer wrapping) and drop on your sterile field
- Check outside of kit for lidocaine, you will have to order if not supplied in kit
- May or may not have nitinol wire (nationwide shortage). Nitinol wire is much harder to kink
- New CHG dressing, place pad over insertion site – NO more biopatch
- Has stat locks included
- Sterile US sleeves and sterile gel in kit
- Gown and large drape in kit
- Pull your own correctly sized sterile gloves prior to procedure
- Document CLIP form after placement
- Use everything in the kit, it just goes to the landfill if you don’t use it. (Drapes, extra CHG swab, gown, mask etc..)
- If unused, wipe with disinfectant wipe to save. (Expensive! Please don't waste)
