We are the detectives of medicine, with laboratory, bedside ultrasound and advanced imaging at our fingertips. Coupled with a patient's history and physical exam, we deduce what is wrong and gain the satisfaction of seeing the benefits of our treatment in real time. | |||
In the course of a year, UC Irvine Health Emergency Medicine Services receives over 49,000 patient visits yearly. The Department has the first Orange County Emergency Department observation unit and also directs an After-Hours Care clinic for less serious complaints. | |||
We are the entry point for Orange County’s only Level I Trauma Center and Regional Burn Center. We care for more than 5000 trauma victims per year, and more than 300 burn victims. | |||
We also receive patients en route to the UC Irvine Health Comprehensive Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center, as well as Orange County’s designated cardiac receiving center.
