Background

Corneal lacerations, which are technically a type of globe laceration but often discussed interchangeably, are common traumatic injuries to the eye, most often associated with penetrating injury or impact with debris.[1] They are a medical emergency and the rapid recognition and stabilization significantly impacts long term neurological function.
