Background
- Lymphatic fluid in pleural space
- Due to disruption or obstruction of the thoracic duct
- Causes:
- Malignancy (50%), especially lymphoma
- Trauma (including iatrogenic)
- Cirrhosis
- Tuberculosis
- Sarcoidosis
- Amyloidosis
- Filariasis
- Idiopathic
