History
The Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine was established in 1996. Dr. Roger Humphries, one of the residents in the first EM residency class at UK, serves as the department Chairman. The department of emergency medicine is a full department in the College of Medicine and is well positioned as leaders within the hospital. The Department of Emergency Medicine is comprised of a team of dedicated physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals committed to serving the populations of central and eastern Kentucky.
