Background

  • New phlebovirus discovered in NW Missouri 2012, cases also describe in Tennessee
  • Transmitted by lone star tick
  • 8 reported cases (as of 2014)

Clinical Features

  • Similar to other tick-born illnesses: fatigue, fever, arthralgias and myalgias
  • Diarrhea
  • Leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, elevated transaminases
