Grand Strand Medical Center

History

Grand Strand Medical Center is a 369-bed acute care hospital located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Emergency Department houses an Accredited Chest Pain Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, Children's Center and the busiest trauma center in South Carolina. Grand Strand Medical Center is a level 1 adult and level 2 pediatric trauma center. The emergency medicine program started in 2017 and continues to grow and be an integral part of Grand Strand Medical Center. Residents gain experience training at our level 1 trauma center ER as well as our separate pediatric ER and satellite free-standing emergency departments, South Strand Medical Center and North Strand Medical Center. The residency also provides superb exposure to wildnerness medicine cases secondary to our proximity to state parks, mountain regions, and the ocean.
