Background

  • Single wire system inserted into the S3 sacral foramen to stimulate sacral nerve and treat urinary or bowel incontinence and/or retention

Complications

  • Infection (early or late complication)
  • Pain
  • Device rejection due to allergic or immune response
  • Lead migration or erosion
  • Stimulator misfiring, transient electric shock
  • Seroma, hemorrhage, hematoma
  • Nerve injury, paralysis
  • Adverse change in voiding or bowel function
