History

Zucker Emergency Medicine Residency at Hofstra-Northwell is the recently combined residency composed of Long Island Jewish and Northshore emergency medicine residencies. The newly combined program is a 3 year curriculum with a heavy emphasis on critical care and EM ultrasonography. It is also the academic affiliate and home of the FDNY-EMS Command Center. Northwell Health is the largest hospital system in New York state, and as a result there is a large variety of patients from all socio-economic classes. The residents have the opportunity to rotate through both major hospitals as well as Cohen's childrens hospital a level 1 pediatric trauma center.
