Background

  • Indications include MS, muscle spasticity pain
  • GABAb receptor agonist

Toxicity

  • Adverse effects:
    • Drowziness, dizziness
    • N/V
    • Seizures, delirium, AMS
    • Bradycardia, hypotension, respiratory compromise

Management

  • Diagnosis of exclusion
  • Activated charcoal for recent ingestion
  • Supportive care:
    • IV fluids, respiratory care
    • Benzodiazepines for seizures
  • Hemodialysis for very severe toxicity
