Reduction

  • Digital nerve block
  • Apply longitudinal traction/ hyperextension followed by dorsal pressure to phalanx base
  • Irreducible cases due to entrapment of avulsion fx, profundus tendor or volar plate

Splinting

  • Splint in slight flexion with dorsal splint x 3wk
