Adult Dosing
General
- PO
- Immediate-release
- Regular strength: 650 mg q4-6 hours
- Extra strength: 1000 mg every 6 hours
- Extended-release: 1300 mg every 8 hours
- Immediate-release
- Rectal: 650 mg every 4 to 6 hours
- IV:
- <50 kg: 15 mg/kg every 6 hours or 12.5 mg/kg every 4 hours ; maximum single dose: 15 mg/kg/dose (≤750 mg/dose)
- ≥50 kg: 650 mg every 4 hours or 1000 mg every 6 hours
- Maximum daily dose: 4g
Pediatric Dosing
- 15 mg/kg/dose Q6 hours
