Background

U/S can be used to find fractures

Sensitivity and Specificity

  • Fifth metatarsal fracture - SN 97.1 and SP 100[1]
  • Long bone fracture - SN 92.9 and SP 83.3 (vs PE which is 78.6 and 90.0)[2]
  • Rib fracture - SN 90 and SP 100 (vs CXR with is 15 and 100)[3]
