1. Brain density-grey vs white matter

2. midline shift

3. Subarach space-syl fissure - look for sulci

4.vent system - look at temp horns

5. Corner shots - eyes / bones

trigone

Ethmoid/ sphenoid

Foramen ovale -cn

5 -maxillary div

spinosum- middle meningeal

foramen rotundum / pterygoid

Clinoid- medial is orbital canal

-sup/inf orb fissure lateral

Look for central sulcus- parietal/ frontal div

Hypoglossal canal off magnum

Cn 7 up cn 8 coke down ( cochlear)

jugular foramen 9, 10,11

pars marginalis/ central sulcus- division parietal/frontal

Sylvian fissure atrophy = temporal lobe atrophy( alzh)

Supracellar cistern- circle willis - meningioma/ pit tumors/ craniopharnygioma/ aneurysm

Comm hydro - arachnoid

Pineal gland - usually calcified- below third vent,

Sphenoid - vert vs ethmoid -horizontal

Occipital - sagital sinus enhancement

Lens/ epidural- dont cross suture lines- cornonal

Ex vacuo dilatation- large vent from atrophy vs aids encephalopathy

Subdural empyema- meningitis-- stroke

Mesenchyme makes up tentorium

Vasogenic edema- tumors/infectious vs cytotoxic edema- stroke

Ring enh lesions- toxo vs lymphoma in immunocomp pt

If thickened near outside. - abcess vs Irreg - ca

Avm- atrophy/ calcification

Post fossa-cerebellum / pons/ medulla
