Background
- Reserved for toxins that are both life-threatening and amenable to removal by this method
- Ineffective for toxins that have large Vd, large molecular weight, or protein bound
Indications
- Overdoses of the following:
- Salicylates
- Methanol
- Ethylene glycol
- Lithium
- Theophylline
- Carbamazepine
- Amanita (mushrooms)
