- result from high speed mva, fall from height or crush
 
- high incidence of assoc lung, chest injury- rib, clavicle fx, pneumothorax, hemo, pulm contusion- may present 2-3 days p injury. Can also have brachial plexus, subclavian vessel inj.

1- body and spine
 
2- acromion and coracoid process
 
3- scapular neck and glenoid fossa
 
 
==Treatment==
 
 
- conservative with analgesics, splinting- for 2- 4 wks.
 
- start pendular shoulder exercises to avoid adhesive capsulitis.
 
- type 1 fx need no further tx
 
- type 2- surgical only if severly displaced
 
- type 3- same as #2
