Procedure

Volar splint (may also splint dorsal aspect)
  • Assess pulse (capillary refill), motor, and sensation
  • Apply splint and secure to finger at multiple points (e.g. with tape) - avoid placing securing straps over joints
  • Reassess pulse, motor, and sensation
