Assess A,B,C's
- Also evaluate respiratory rate, effort and adequacy
- Apply pulse oximetry/capnography
If inadequate airway
- Open Airway
- Use nasal or oral airway
- Perform Bag Valve Mask ventilation
- Notify ALS if only EMT on scene
- Assess for an Airway Obstruction
Reassess Airway
- Continue BVM
- Is BVM succesful?
Yes
- Continue BVM
No
- Perform blind insertion of an airway device
- Consider intubation if a CC/P
