Background
- Cramp of pubococcygeus or levator ani muscles
Clinical Features
- Spasm-like, sometimes excruciating, pain in the anus, often misinterpreted as a need to defecate
- Episodic pain (women, pts < 45yo)
- Incontinence
- Urgency
