  • Cramp of pubococcygeus or levator ani muscles


Clinical Features

  • Spasm-like, sometimes excruciating, pain in the anus, often misinterpreted as a need to defecate
  • Episodic pain (women, pts < 45yo)
  • Incontinence
  • Urgency
