WikEM algorithm project: Difference between revisions

Background

The WikEM algorithm project is a set of algorithms and other charts that are editable using a shared Lucid Chart account. This works better than trying to make the charts in mediawiki language.

How It Works

Log In (username: WikEM, password: wikem1)
Open the "WikEM" folder
Select the "Template" chart and click "Create New From"
Enter a relevant title for your document
Use template elements to create your algorithm, follow WikEM conventions detailed in sidebar

Exporting File from Lucid Chart and Inserting in WikEM

Export file from Lucid Chart
- Select "File" > "Download As..."
- Format: PNG, Content: Part of Current Page
Upload to WikEM
- In the body of the image page, put:
  - {{WikEM algorithm project}}
  - Web link to that specific file (e.g. Link:https://www.lucidchart.com/documents/edit/4a4d1b60-518f-c00a-aa0e-10510a008ded)
Put image link in relevant pages using the standard manner
Then, other contributors can make changes to the chart image (so they don't have to remake the whole algorithm to change it)
- Use Lucid Chart link from image page
- Make changes in Lucid Chart
- Export file using directions above
- Upload new image version as updated version to original file (thus automatically updates on all WikEM pages with image link)

Details

Each page in this project should have a link to that specific chart
- Example: "Chart link: https://www.lucidchart.com/documents/edit/b758a2b3-7dc2-4d94-b265-86873f1b0295"
