Ankle
axial loading injury-suspect other Fx as well (calcaneal,talar dome, tibial plateau, femoral neck,acetabular,L spine)
-watch for compartment syndrome
bad Fracture common to have poor outcomes
-up to 10-55% complication rate
-non-union rates from 25 up to 100% with severe Fx
-malunion rates up to 42% in some series.
-post-traumatic arthritis extremely common.
