Diagnosis

Symptoms usually related to associated renal failure, hypocalcemia or hypomagnesemia

Differential Diagnosis

Treatment

  1. Treat the underlying cause
  2. Restrict calcium phosphate intake
  3. IV Normal Saline (if normal renal fx)
  4. Acetazolamide (500mg IV q6hr) - if normal renal fx
  5. Oral phosphate binders (aluminum carbonate or hydroxide)
  6. Hemodialysis
