    • No impaired tissue oxygenation
      • Alcoholism
        • Lactate utilization is impaired 2/2:
          • 1. Impaired hepatic gluconeogenesis
          • 2. No NAD+ to convert lactate to pyruvate
      • Sepsis
      • Liver disease
      • Metformin
